Fillimin e muajit të Ramazanit e kuptojmë me pamjen e Hënës së re, ose me kalimin e 30 ditëve të muajit Shaban.
Ajo çka thamë më lartë bazohet në thënien e Muhamedit,- salallahu alejhi ve selem!,- ku thotë:

“Dhe nëse e shihni atë (hënën e re të Ramazanit) atëherë agjëroni, e nëse e shihni atë (Hënën e re në Sheval) atëherë ndërprejeni agjërimin, ndërsa nëse retë bllokojnë (nuk ju mundësohet pamja e Hënës) pamjen tuaj, atëherë plotësoni tridhjetë ditë të Shabanit”.<\/p>\n
